iLL-iteracy

Amazing artist coming out with unique beats and a different style. Lets learn more about how iLL-iTERACY came together.
Ill-iteracy Biography

"Each born in Roanoke "Star City",VA. iLL-iteracy's members developed affinities for music early in their lives. Whether it was jam sessions in the basement or rocking the crowd at their high school football games, their talent and love for all things instrumental was obvious. The group was officially formed circa 1998, but have known each other since about the age of six. Beginning with tee-ball, the members had a close friendship with each other that only seemed to grow stronger as time went by. This is a fact that many people find intriguing, as not too many people tend to have one best friend for so long, let alone an entourage of them.
The group was formed in the Dudley Basement, which was only a half mile away from William Fleming High School where they all attended. Honors classes, magnet programs, and an enthusiastic approach to learning undoubtedly had an effect on their appreciation for the art of music. After school, each of the members would gather around a computer, a base-model plastic computer microphone, and a technologically inferior recording program just for kicks. There was no mission in mind; no money-making scheme... There was just music.
The members of iLL-iteracy are Scott Dudley - "Chris Prythm", Kirk Dudley - "Speek Eazy", Corey English - "WiLL Spitwell", and George Trent - "Young Observe". Now operating under the witty moniker "iLL-iteracy," they site influences such as God, each other, Roanoke City, prayerful mothers, scornful fathers, the loss of loved ones, and all the typical conditions that define an inner-city. Their sound is inspirational but far from ignorantly blissful and their musical arsenal ranges from upbeat anthems to thought provoking, more conscious selections.
'iLL-it' shows no indication of slowing down nor do they appear to be fatigued in spite of working day-jobs, earning college degrees, and managing families. The phrase "due time" undoubtedly comes to mind when you factor in that the team writes, records and mixes all their own music. The group's determination shines through more recent ventures including "iLL-it Beatz," an integral section of the official website (www.iLL-it.com) that was created from beginning to end by Speek Eazy and Chris Prythm. "iLL-it Beatz" showcases and makes available quality, custom-fitted tracks for other artists to use in further sharpening of their respective crafts. In an industry where 'one-hit-wonders' are prevalent, the individuals that make up iLL-iteracy are bound and determined to be anything but. They continue to develop their skills on both the artist/producer and executive sides of the business in preparation for the opportunity that most never get. But that's the motivation that pushes them harder and fuels the hunger that so many others lack. A group holding no limits, versatile with the ability to mesh with any genre, not following 'hype' or others, just the love and passion to make riLL music."

TU-PAC Poem

The Rose That Grew From Concrete by Tupac

"Did you hear about the rose that grew from a crack in the concrete?
Proving nature's law is wrong it learned to walk with out having feet.
Funny it seems, but by keeping it's dreams, it learned to breathe fresh air.
Long live the rose that grew from concrete when no one else ever cared."

My Refelction:
The Unknown Mother

"Coming from a wound thats suppose to be a mother. Gave life to a blessing in the world, but left her blessing. for most or her childs' life he was left alone. His mother wasn't there to teach him how to walk. She didn't place that example he wishes he had. As this child grows a day at a time, and learns by observing. As this rose grew day by day, he became his own person. No one ever cared nor watered him, he had to go on his own, and depend on no one. As long as he lived he did the best he could, he was the best he could have been. As no one showed him love, he lived cold hearted. As he's gone, now everyone misses him, but why now and not before? When he was here breathing the same air as everyone else. Something so beautiful was left and grew from a crack in the concrete to become the best that he can. He was real, eventhough sometimes he was wrong. He would always stick to his word. This world had it good, but someone just happened to pass by and distroyed the beginning of many, the leader and reason for those beginnings."

These 2 good looking guys are Lyriq and Commando aka. B.X.C. These guys are amazing. For like about 2 months I been in love with one of their old songs called, "High School Love" and till today i found out that song is 6 years old. That old song is not old to anyone who listen to it because it applies to all the high school "Love Birds." It's all in the high school experience. I listened to their new single called, "Kiss Ur Girlfriend" and they're still amazing artist that talk about what happens in real life. I love them because their music makes me think about everything in life and how things are just the way they are. There new single talks about kissing a young lady at a party that was already taken. They ended up falling in love with each other... now u go on youtube and listen to the snippet of "kiss ur girlfriend" and listen to the rest. Now I support B.X.C to the fullest and I wanna give a shoutout to all of those who support and love B.X.C. He is there bio. I hope you enjoy learning more about them. "The south side of Chicago has blessed the industry with a dynamic duo that brings an intense lyrical technique and a powerful expression of what forms B.X.C. Officially endorsed into the game by Ludacris, B.X.C. has now been signed to Disturbing Tha Peace/Def Jam. Alex "Lyriq" Cottrell and Willie "Commando" Stanfield, dubbed "B.X.C" are undoubtedly ready to take the game over by creating a musical phenomenon that will bring a unique style of hip-hop to the music industry. Anyone who witnesses the duo’s electrifying, high powered music and performances will realize that Lyriq and Commando have a rare compassion, motivation, and desire for extreme success… B.X.C seeks to push the envelope of their generation by expressing a unique style to music that touches the hearts of many while at the same time expanding their horizons to make an impact on society and create a union between music and life. Commando knows there’s “more to life than the illusions of chains, diamonds and money, but wouldn’t mind having all three.” It’s this balance that keeps him grounded and in attack mode when it comes to his style of rapping. Lyriq is grounded in his family upbringing, which he sites as the motivation that he uses to put the pen to the pad. In B.X.C’s short time on the music scene they’ve worked with artist such as Ludacris, T-Pain, Bobby Valentino, DJ Infamous, Twista, Shawnna, and many others. Yxung Vegas

He's a young rapper that moved from Vegas to North Carolina in 2006 and was givin the name Young Vegas. Young Vegas has a new track called "The Adventures Yxung Space Man Named Vegas."This track has a very unique beat. This young rapper's voice has a very good potential. I like this track because it talks about his world and where he can take you. Check it out and if you like it download it.  Click Here to hear and download for free! Now lets get to know Young Vegas more with this little interview/ bio.
"YxUNG VEGAS BIOGRAPHY Born Christian Dorsey in Montgomery County, Maryland on the 20th Day of Febuary, 1992. Yes Fans 6 days after Valentines Day. Growing up in Forest Heights, Maryland, Music and Family was the only thing he had to keep his head clear and off the streets. Family played a very important role in "Yxung Vegas's" musical career, In his childhood as a youngster, A usual day of music consisted of Oldies music such as the late Marvin Gaye ,the Jackson 5 or Gladus Knight. Although this music was good it never grabbed Young Vegas's Attention like hip hop music. In his house hold he was the youngest of 8 children at the time. Growing up in the 90's meant hip hop was very heavy on the scene right? No not in his house. His mother highly disliked Hip-Hop music. His first real introduction to hip hop was at 5years old Young Vegas walked passed his brother Kevin White now known as K paso's room. K paso being in his late years of high school was always "locked in his cave" as his mom would tell u. Even tho the Door was clothes the rhythmic sounds of Jay-Z's resonable doubt would ram through the cracks in the door. Once Yxung vegas realized it was a different type of music. He made it a habit of sitting in front of his brothers door and reciting lines of songs that would come on. He did this 4 months until he was able to recite lines of "Dead Presidents" without the beat. One Day K-Paso opened the door and asked him come in he walked in and saw his old mpc and computer that was running fruity loops 4. He then told him that one day i would use all this stuff. Although his brother was the 1st to truely introduce him to the art of music Yxung Vegas gives all his Credit to well to Will Smith. Strange? Yes! He gives Credit to Will Smith because of the theme song to The Fresh Prrince of Bel Air at 6 years old he would watch the show just to see the Theme song and kick freestyles to the beat. Young Vegas then Began Writing he wrote for Yars and Years and Years til the world trade centers came down and forced him to move to a different culture, a different coast, that taught him lots and lots more things. Feeling depressed because of the seperation between k paso and him he put rap songs on hold and began studing ,writing poetry. and drawing. He walked around with a notebook full of drawings and songs that is still around til this day. In 2005, he and a couple of his close cousin began remixing songs with different hooks. His older cousin rapper T Nice taught Yxung Vegas how to correctly make a track. Teaching him about Adlibs and the Mixing process of songs. Then the songs were on a wal mart mic in the back of a closet. Also in 2005 his 6th grade English Teacher Mr. Adante asked Young vegas what he would do when he grew up he repeated this statement "Sir, My dream is not realistic but it is goin to happen I will have a record deal before i graduate high school." . Being of the Lil Bow Wow era the class took it as a joke but it was said with extreme emotions. Yxung vegas took it as fuel and began writing more and more. Although trouble with street gangs and family held him back from his dream. In the 9th grade Young Vegas was considered as a problem child to others parents, because he was kicked out just about every high school with in driving distance from his house. his mom realized the dangers and moved the family to north carolina. In the 10th grade Yxung Vegas and his older brother Owen moved to a school in Charlotte, North Carolina. We were considered the New kidz on the block. Being New and Just moving from Vegas the kidz at school nicknamed Owen "Vegas" and Christian "Yxung Vegas" giving him the title he uses now. In Charlotte, North Carolina Yxung Vegas made a name 4 his self by freestyle rapping, but altercations with his gang life again sent him packing and back in to the sky now with a fresh slate. Yxung Vegas comes to El Paso texas with a then newly Giving Nickname Young Vegas. Here he met some of his friends in the music industry like Rhyval,Kween,Spectacular Mike, Jewelz P.T.P and G chris. Rhyval being as entergetic as he was introduce Yxung Vegas to the art of performing. They did remixes to songs and performed them every saturday at there school, and put the videos on popular social networking site YouTube. He then began making beats on his laptop that his mom gave him. Yet, once again trouble sent Yxung Vegas on his way back to the beginning of his music Career that is Las Vegas, Nevada. He went to Basic high school where he once again made a name 4 his self as a freestyle rapper. He was then introuduce to Dizzy D from Flashy. Who Yxung vegas now refers to as a Big Bro. Yxung vegas made on last trip to El paso, Texas and Charlotte, North Carolina where he made several songs. This and Jerkin with a group called Vegas Kidz put his name on the map throughtout the Western coast. He was then admitted in to Dizzy D's "Circle of Success" Yxung Vegas Calls it. Fla$hy INC. As a 18 year old independent artist with a resume such as his What happens in Vegas certainly doesnt stay in Vegas anymore, and if so not for long. Yxung Vegas has had numerous performances at local clubs throughout the Las Vegas Valley and California. He Gained relationship with several major and independent recording artists such as The New Boyz, Jerks Incorporated., Tay F 3rd, and Yong 3rd to name a few. Yxung Vegas's Music was featured on the debut Rangers Album/DVD compliation entitled "Jerkin is a Habit Vol. 1" . This DVD is sold in stores everywhere from New York to China. On The 20th Yxung Vegas Released his 1st mixtape called "Hang Loose". http://hulkshare.com/d5zem61t9337 The Full Mixtape got around 3,000 downloads but if u break it down. The 10 songs on my mixtape where download close to 100,000 times thanks to it being hosted in sites like www.digitaldripped.com and www.daskreetz.com. Althought, Yxung Vegas is a lyrical rapper. He also has other talents and goals he wants to persue such as acting, painting, and putting together a clothing line. With his Heart of a Lion will not quit spirit he can do anything he puts his mind to."

DA PRETTY BOYZ MIXTAPE

Da Pretty Boyz
They have brought music a new style. They do R&B and Pop. They look like hard working guys. They do their music for the ladies. They do a really good job in the beats and the lyrics are really nice. Their Mixtape "Being Pretty is Easy vol.1" dropped a few days ago and i got to hear it. They have variety of lyrical skills in this Mixtape. They have those romnatic songs, the nasty songs, and the fun uplifting songs. They did a really good job putting this Mixtape together. In one of their song they even added a lil spanish in there. Eminem

Why does everyone hate on Eminem? Why don't they see what i see? Look back at the things he use to rap about... then look at the things he raps about now. He's life has changed and he has too. He recognized all the mistakes he's made. It's so amazing how his daughter is everything to him and how everything he does is for his family, but he didn't understand how much his family really misses him and needs him there. one of his songs that he did that really hit was "When I'm gone." It was a dream that made him stay atleast once. This song tells the story of his life now. I love the way that all his music is a story. When you listen to other artist rap you really have to pay attention to the lyrics to understand them, but Eminem's songs you just automatically understand. He just puts he heart and soul to what he does it's so amazing. So many good reasons to look up to Mr. Marshall. I don't understand why he's wack when to me... to me he's amazing. I want to give a SHOUTOUT to those who beileve in Eminem.

NEW TALENTS

Every day I find new artist. Some suck no joke.... but some.... some have the talent to producer good product. Some know what they are getting into and they work hard every day. Its so funny how some artist can suck and act like their all that and the ones that are good act the same. Talented people dont change because their getting there... they stay the same and thank god for the talent they have.

Music

Music is my life. Everything I do somehow revolves around music. I think music is a way of life and everyone has a way of living it. Everyone can be so surprised how much music is in my life. I mean I literally go to sleep to music, wake up to music, drive to music, think to music, and a lot more to music. On my daily bases I talk to underground artist, I support those who are good and let those who aren’t know. I like to judge them so I can help them be a little better. I’m not a big expert in music but I know what’s good and bad. To me the beat is very important because, well I’m a dancer and I have to be able to feel the beat. I know some music has slow beats but I’m also good on what’s good because I sing.

Today is May 20th, 2010 and we had a group of artist come to our school and perform. They were local artist and they were called “The Dream Team.” Some many people were judging them bad, but they have no idea how good they are, I mean just to have the guts to start doing what they do makes them good, because some people have talent and don’t show it and they do I mean It was amazing. I want to say they have my support 100%. I was just so amazed how people judge them bad. Maybe I’m a nice person but I’m pretty sure that when it comes to music I judge hard. The one thing I can say is that you get good things out of every artist because each one has at least a good skill.

In my everyday life I go searching the web for underground artist and comment them in at least one thing. I love so music so much it’s so crazy. I mean my mp3 is full of underground music.

SIGNS

I love showing love and support to underground artist. The way i show love n support is by downloading their music and making them fan signs. On my myspace I upload the fan sign pics I take and I add their music to my page and I put a picture of them on my page. I don't do that for all the artist I listen to, but I do it to the ones I think deserve it. Its important we show love and support to those people because we don't know how much work and time they go through. People work so hard to have just what they have and to work for the beyond.

MUSIC TO ME

MUSIC IS AWAY OF LIVING. EACH ONE OF US HAS THE FREEDOM TO CHOOSE HOW WE WANT TO LIVE IT.  SOME PEOPLE LIKE TO LIVE THAT LIFE IN THE LIFE OS STORIES... STORIES OF THEIR PAST; OTHERS LIKE TO LIVE IT IN A EMOTIONAL WAY AND STUFF LIKE THAT. THE WAY I LIVE IT IS BY APPRECIATING WHATS GOOD AND LEARNING FROM WHATS BAD. IF U WANT MUSIC TO BRING A POSITIVE FEELING YOU HAVE TO BE POSITIVE ALL THE TIME... NOT JUST WHEN YOU HEAR OR MAKE THE SONG. LIVE THE MUSIC LIFE HOW YOU WANT TO... DONT LET ANYONE TELL YOU HOW TO LIVE IT.

Dizzy D Flashy

When I first started listening to Dizzy D Flashy I thought he was gonna be cocky with everything. Lastnight I was on youtube and i was looking at videos of Dizzy D Flashy, and I heard one of his songs called "Tha Truth." That song really let me know who he is and how he thinks. He showed me that he's not cocky and that he doesn what he does for love and not for the girls or drugs... I think yall should look at that song and listen to everything he says... If it got to me im pretty sure it will to you too.

THEM RANGERZ

They came far whith there jerkin' moves. I have studied many crews and NO ONE and when i say NO ONE I mean NO ONE can jerk it better than them. Each one of the Rangers have a different set of swagg. Individualy they have lots of swagg but when they come together its something EXPLOSIVE!!!!
I'm about to link you to one of my personal favorite dance video of the Rangers

4DD ME =)

THE FLOW

Look at the way one move can make you look. It's so amazing how dance is a type of language. Lots of people claim to understand it, but at the end they prove themselves wrong. Dance is a type of language that only people that do it from the heart, can understand. I hate how some people make fun of others for the type of dances they do. I mean the one dance that has a little bit of everything would be hip-hop, but no matter what type of dance they do; they speak the language and that's that. The way the body flows just amazes me everytime because every dancer has a different style. It's so amazing what people are able to do dancing; the messsages they can send through one move.

A*$*A*P (UNDERGROUND)

A*$*A*P is his name. He has worked so hard and recently came out with his fifth mixtape. The name of his mixtape is: "Marty Me-Williamz (1 Night Only)." From listening to his tracks, this mixtape is for the ladies. I know he works hard; you can tell in his lyrics. You can tell he talks about what he's feeling inside and what he goes through in his everyday life with the females. A*$*A*P's music really makes me think about life and what other people go through. Sometimes we just think about ourselves and we don't think about what other people are going through. A*$*A*P's music lets me know what he going through and just wakes my thoughts up. People just listen to his music download it and support and like i said listen and understand his feelings. Know what A*$A*P is all about i think u might like him.

THE SUPPORT TO ALL ARTIST

What is yor life? Music is my life. Music is my life because it gives me another way of seeing things. I like when music flows and talks about real life stuff. I like when artist talk about how hard life has been till now; till now that they have what they have. Artist have worked so hard to be where they are. For never giving up they got paid back. I like to support artist because I know they work night and day to be where they are now. Us people think they have life easier, but most of the time it's not like that. Artist have to sacrafice many family stuff. Most of the time they don't even have time to spend time with their own kids. I really look up too all artist because they give a lot that ofcourse at the end it pays off. Do you think of what you would feel if you didn't have time to spend with the ones you love???

People Think I'm Fake

Some people don't understand who I am. I wish I can scream it out to them put even like that, they will never understand. People sometimes thing I'm fake because I'm so damn real. But what can iI do other then be me? I laugh in their faces because they don't know what I'm all about. Ask me and you'll find out what I'm all about.
